GUEST Post ~ Craft a World ~ HERRINGBONE PILLOW ~

Posted on 15:00 by Unknown

When I posted THIS POST, asking for help, and then sent an email to my bloggy friends, I never expected so many people to respond.I am blessed with wonderful friends, and I had a ton of ladies, who were more than willing to keep you all entertained while I get better, or get some sleep, or paint my garage, whatever, he he. The point is, I am SUPER LUCKY, super THANKFUL, and SUPER excited to introduce you all to Farah from
CRAFT A WORLD.

Farah is a WONDERFUL bloggy friend. I only met her recently, and she is just amazing. Every single one of her comments, and emails, is written, like she's known you forever. She is so friendly, and you can feel her warm heart all the way from Pakistan. One of my most favorite posts she did, was taking us on a tour of her beautiful country, and I was just in awe at the beauty. If you get a chance, PLEASE check out THIS POST on the BEAUTY OF PAKISTAN.She is also incredibly talented in many other things, and loves home design, and especially floral arrangements. I love her blog, and know you will too.

TAKE IT AWAY FARAH!!

An inspirational
Pillow Project

Today I am sharing a project of stitching of a pillow,
which I saw on the blog of
Amanda, author of
ourhumbleabowed.
you can see her beautiful pillow which become
an inspiration for me for this project by clicking
Here

Herringbone Pillow

What did you say?
Is it really a beautiful and inspirational pillow
isn't?

Its not a difficult one but just a little time demanding to do.
Wants to know How To Do?
OK come with me ...

 Lets Start ...
Cut three pieces of your fabric, one for the front part and
two for the the back portion...
Measurement is of your pillow size
As mine is,
front piece is 15x24
back pieces are 15x14 (each).

Then cut the straight stripes of 4",
fold and press them from the middle.
So you can have 2" stripe
as you can see in the above picture.

Now start the stitching.
To get a exact middle line fold your front fabric and press it.
It will be the middle line where your both the stripes will meet
and make a joint.
Here I pinned two steps to show you that how it looks like.

A more closer look with more stripes.

Some stitching tips...
Here you can see that I pinned five stripes at time...
But remember when you start stitching it is only one by one
at a time.

Like when you stitched first strip from the right side,
your strip will go down around 1" out from your middle line
that means when you stitch second from the left side
then it will overlap your first one,
and that overlapping will come on your middle line
You can see this in the above picture.

Here the stitched stripes.

The backside should look like this

At last you got it like this.
Now it is ready to attached the
back pieces and gave it a shape of a pillow.

So here it is the sweet fruit of my patience.
What do you think?
Now I want a suitable place for my pillow...

Its a very old chair, dumped in my garage.
I stitched two Ball Fiber Filled cushions for seating.
Hmm and now my PILLOW
make it more beautiful...

Here a complete look...Oh that lamp?

This wrought iron lamp is also something I forget.
To give it a new and fresh look,
I just glued three pieces of Oasis and
arrange some silk flowers
around its base...

Like this ...
And its very simple and easy
and ends with such a beautiful result

So with these DIY efforts,
I gave a new look to a trash
and turns it into treasure.
Yes a treasure because now
I have a very comfortable nook
for reading or sipping my hot coffee
or just sit relaxed with closed eyes.

I think my tutorial will help you if anyone of you
want to make like this or
may be you have some more creative ideas
for with some more better options.
Share your thinking with me and all of us.
I am waiting anxiously for your replies
and comments.

Thank you so much for being here today
I enjoyed having you Farah!
