Florida Vacation part ONE

Posted on 05:00 by Unknown
Here are some pictures from our Florida vacation last week. Todays post is pictures from around the resort. We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom suite at the LIKI TIKI VILLAGE, in Orlando.
The resort, had an awesome water park style pool area, where we spent many, many hours, catching the kids as they flew down the slides. I think by the end of our trip, I must have done the equivalent to 10,000  military bench presses, catching Dino D, then lifting him up so he could go down again 10 seconds later. We all had tons of fun at the pool. My kids have been trained since little that they must wear hats, and thanks to the shirt bathing suits, and sunblock, nobody got burned, despite spending HOURS, and DAYS in the water, in the middle of 95 degree hot days.

You will notice another girly with us, that is my cousin, and we travel with my aunt and cousins often. My aunt could't come with us, but her daughter did. Last time her brother came, and we love having family travel with us, especially since we always stay large rooms. We have plenty of space, and it's always funner with more people there.
There were many activities at the resort. We played tennis, badminton, shuffleboard, rode bikes, and rode these lovely paddle boats. Note to self, DON'T ever do that again. Gosh, lugging around 3 kids and myself, for an hour, just about killed me, and can those life vests be any more uncomfortable. It was fun though watching the kids shriek every time they saw a ripple in the water. There were 2 baby gators somewhere in the water. I tried, but could not find them, he he.
Last but not least, by far my most favorite part of staying at resorts, or large suites at hotels, is having a kitchen. I HATE eating out more than once a week, possibly twice. To be honest if it wasn't for the cost, I probably wouldn't actually mind THAT much, but when you travel with 6 hungry peeps, you need to get creative. Trust me we all ate REALLY good. I was terrible about taking pics of my dishes, but I can tell you I gained 4 pounds while there, so yeah, we ate well, haha.

Also I had a lesson in cooking in a small kitchen. I barely had 18 inches of counter space, and no pantry, so I was stocking all our food on top of plates, in between pots and pans, in the stove, anywhere I could find room. It made me keep my working area clean, that's for sure.

The pictures below are of the kitchen, breakfast one day, which consisted of eggs, bacon, toast, crepe pancakes, fish chutney, oj, and tea.

I also made cookies, but to my surprise there was no cookie tray, so I changed plans and made it a small cookie brownie cake type thing, and YUMMY, it was good.
Come back tomorrow to see more pics from our vacation.
We went swimming with the manatees and I can't wait to show you!!

AMAZING FEATURES week #41 & #42

Posted on 13:46 by Unknown
Amaze me August
TOP 10 FEATURES

We have a lot of features this week, since I didn't do any features last week. So take a few moments to see my TOP 10 for the past two weeks. I had a really hard time choosing, there were so many awesome link ups. As usual I love seeing new people join the party, you know who you are :) Thank you so much, and I also want to thank everyone who is kind enough to add my button, or link back to my blog. Almost every single blog I visited, did this, so I just want you to know I APPRECIATE it so much.

Thanks again to everyone who helps make this party awesome. Don't forget about my new party. Even if you link up here, you can always go there to link up as well. Especially if it's party related, I actually PREFER you join the party there first. I need all your help in spreading the word about this party, and soon I just know it will be an awesome resource for us all.
PARTY PLANNING TUESDAYS
Photobucket

Now check out these amazing features!!

Holly @ CRAFTS BY HOLLY created the most adorable penguin themed birthday party for her little man, who turned one. Everything turned out so cute, and the setting in the park was just beautiful. She even had a very big surprise guest show up, so sweet!

Crystal @ A PUMPKIN AND A PRINCESS didn't go buy her kids popsicles, oh no, she made them. So easy, and I can so imagine how tasty too. Make sure to take a look at these for sure.

Trina @ A LOVE 2 CREATE turned a regular dress into a ruffle shirt. As always she made it look so simple, and now her daughter has a beautiful new shirt.

Sourkraut @ LANGES FADCHEN, FAULES MADCHEN made me drool like crazy with her new Key Lime Cupcake creations. I mean seriously who doesn't love key lime pie, and in a cupcake form, oh my gosh. I love seeing her creations, they are always incredibly awesome.

B. Cheniful @ B. CHENIFUL was requested by her dear neighbor to make a special yarn wreath for her mil. B. Cheniful was a bit nervous, as she wanted to make it perfect. I think mission accomplished, this turned out wonderful!

Emily @ ON THE V SIDE had a little problem called big open wall space, can anyone relate? I can!! She solved that problem with a beautifully arranged photo collage, and she shows us how she did it, quite simply too.

Patricia @ IN THE MOM ZONE redid her kids art desk. To say the least the desk had seen better days, lol. She mod podged spiderman comic pages on it, and I am telling you I WANT THIS now. Totally awesome, and you can get lost reading all those comics now, every day!! Totally awesome, girl.

Amanda @ LITTLE HOUSE ON THE CORNER made a cute personalized nursery letter. She used silhouettes of various animals, and created this incredible piece. I love it.

Melody @ CRAFTY BUTT bought a cutting board from the dollar tree, and while it serves it's purpose, she wanted it to look cute too, so she just added a doily, no biggie really, he he. Look how cute it is now, gosh girl.

Amanda @ LITTLE B made some really cute, strawberry cake pops, to celebrate summer. I love the way she displayed them in that yellow planter, so cute.

Stacy @ JUST SEW SASSY made the most awesome, cutest, most adorable burlap pinwheel wreath ever. Gosh I just love it so much, mostly because of the fabulous colors, and the pinwheels naturally are just too cute.

Amy and Emily @ SISTERS OS THE WILD WILD WEST redid an old, UGLY $2.00 dresser, into a fabulous race car white dresser, perfect for any little boy. I can't believe what a transformation this was, just amazing.

Christine @ CRAFTY GEORDI gave her bed a princess feel, but very grown up. She used driftwood, and two beautiful barn doors, as the headboard. I love the way it turned out!!

Thendral @ KAVIN, SEWING, EMBROIDERY, CRAFTS and MOREshowed us really simple way to create a stencil, which you can use for card making, art projects, or in this case fabric printing. I love it, so simple.

Miya @ JELLYFISH JELLY made the cutest little party favor holders, mini footballs, made out of paper mache. How darling are these, I mean how manly, are these, he he.

Ashley @ A BLONDES LIFE built something, all by herself. Not just anything, she made a sofa table, yeah, she said she couldn't believe it, and I can't either. It turned out so good, WOW, I wonder if it really is THAT easy, hehe.

Alia @ ALIA'S CREATIVE LIFE shared her recipe for some delicious chickpea flour pancakes, YUMMY, and a very simple way to spice up that regular can of beans. Totally sounds awesome, trust me, go check it out!!

Heather @ DIY KINDA GAL simply BLEW me away this week with her incredible tutorial AND transformation of a ugly laminate bookshelf/entertainment unit. You know the kind, not very pretty. Can you see this now, can you? It is amazing, you must go see how she did it, truly amazing.

Emily @ BLUE BABES CREATE tried her hand at the adorable mens dress shirt turned into fashion skirt. I think she did a fabulous job, and I must say that I really want to try this too. It's just so adorable, and actually looks rather easy, of I do say so myself, :)

Mary@ THE DECORATIVE PAINTBRUSH redid a plain coffe table. SHe named it her 60's inspired surfboard, and it does look like one. I love her furniture pieces, they are so creative.

WIWW ~ Makeup, Jewlery, and a SMILE

Posted on 09:04 by Unknown
What I Wore Wednesday
Yesterday I spent the day with my girly girl. When we were in Florida, the boys got all kinds of stuff from Universal, and other places, while she didn't really get anything. So I promised to take her shopping when we got back home, and she could get anything she wanted. It would be a girls day out.

We got dressed, took some pictures, dropped of the boys with grandma, and we went to the mall. My oldest was the photographer here, and clearly my daughter and I both have issues with posing for the camera. We tried, but yikes, my bubble butt kept getting in the way, I had to delete a whole bunch of pics, lol. My daughter refused to strike a pose, but finally did a couple, after the sun started melting us, and I told her the only way we would stop is if she did, he he. Dino D on the other hand, well I couldn't keep him our of the pics, and he had no problem strutting his stuff, haha.
First things first though, we had to grab a bite to eat. So she was set on Steak and Shake, of course so she could have a shake. It was all about my girly so, we went, and I am crazy about their chili, so we both kind of pigged out, he he. We took some silly pictures, and then we headed to the mall.

We watched Jim Carry's new movie, Mr. Poppers Penguins, and it was HILARIOUS. I totally recommend you go watch it, you will love it. We shopped, laughed, and finally ended up with some new shoes, and 4 more barbies. After all that, she still only wanted more barbies. What can you say, she is totally a girl, he he.
Here's a couple more pictures of me, strutting some LUXE, and I finally got some pictures of my new beautiful necklace that CHARM BRACELET DIVA made for me, well not for me, but when I saw it I knew it was mine. I loved it so much. I have a bigger picture of it below, it's just gorgeous.

I also had to buy some new makeup last a couple weeks ago, and while I hardly ever wear any, I decided to doll up just a little yesterday. This is the first time I ever bought a pink lipstick, what do you think, do you like it? I'm so used to my reds, or mauves, this was totally different, but I wanted to try something new. So that is WHAT I WORE WEDNESDAY, only it was really Tuesday!

Time is MONEY - Clock revamp - FEATURE by The Scene of the Grime

Posted on 12:00 by Unknown
Hey everyone, today I wanted to share with you a wonderful blog, I've been following for quite some time now. Laurie from THE SCENE OF THE GRIME. I love Laurie's blog, it's full if great crafts, decor, food, tips, and uplifting devotional posts. She is also sweet as can be, and a great bloggy friend.

A couple days ago she wrote a post on NO COMMENT HELP, and it made me kinda sad. I know I am completely guilty of not always leaving comments, and most days can't get around to all my favorite blogs at all, let alone leave comments. However, I assure all my favorite gals, that I do READ your blogs, and I do adore you all. Sometimes though, I feel like I can do more to show you I love you, and reading her post I just knew I had to share her fabulous blog with all of you.

Besides she really did do some awesome projects lately, and I can't blame her for being sad when there were hardly any comments, SO if you should so feel inclined, please take a moment to check out her wonderful blog, and this cool project, and leave her some kind words. I'm sure she will be SO thrilled you did. You will love her, I promise :)

Ok now check out this super cool idea on revamping a regular wall clock.

How to cut your bangs - A VIDEO TUTORIAL -

Posted on 10:52 by Unknown
Ok, here is a quick video my son took of me cutting my bangs. We had so much fun, and couldn't stop laughing. I decided to share all the bloopers with you too, since this is so me. I thought you would enjoy seeing me in action, as I usually am. A total dork!! So anyway, here it is, enjoy, and by the end of the video you will actually know how easy it is to cut your own bangs, so that's pretty cool.
Please forgive my HORRIBLE video editing skills. It took me forever just to get this up, and the video quality is so bad, hmmm. I need to work on that, if I choose to do more of these videos, and I think I want to, because it was fun. Anyone have any pointers for me on uploading and editing videos, easily. I'd love to hear from you!!!

And of course I had to trim my oldest sons hair again, it was just a tad bit too long, he he.
SO much better dude, I can see those eyes again, thank you!!
I hope you guys enjoyed the video, and I hope you are learning a thing or two. Hopefully you can start saving your family some money and do your own hair, or even give your kids a trim. More hair tips coming soon, including my new NO POOP hair care. I can't wait to talk to you about it.

Goodwill chairs makeover - Guest Post - Kim @ Too Much Time on my Hands

Posted on 04:00 by Unknown
I am so happy to introduce you guys to KIM today. I have really enjoyed reading her blog, and especially her Earth Day Projects. You all know how much I love that :) She's super sweet, and I am so glad she's sharing her wonderful chair redo with us today!!
**************************************************************

Thanks so much for letting me crash your pad, Bella!

I'm Kim from Too Much Time On My Hands.

Too Much Time is my blog where I share crafts, projects, redecorating, party planning, and general diy debacles.

 My "Not a Clock"

Upcycled Jar Projects

"Monster Mash" Party in a Box

I also have special features and every Thursday is Earth Day Thursday. I share Earth friendly tips, upcycling projects, recipes for "green" cleaning products, and anything to help out the environment.

 Easy Homemade Dishwasher Detergent

I have two littles and in another life I was an elementary teacher, so some of my projects are designed to teach my kids a few things while having fun.

Upcycled Milk Cap Games

Right now, I am in the middle of my "1 room for $100" and am reworking my loft/office/craft room. It was a mess and in need of a serious intervention.

I found these fab chairs at Goodwill for $1.99 each. There were four, but two were very wobbly and shabby and I wasn't too sure of my fix it skills, so I stuck with the two solid ones.
I love the shape and while the finish was rotten, the wood was in very good condition.
Check out the lovely vinyl seats- nice right?

I took off the seats and sanded away with my palm sander  till everything was smooth.I watered down some of my kids  $1.99 red paint, don't judge, it is what I had on hand and I was too impatient to wait till I could run to the store for appropriate paint.

I painted on a thin coat and then after it dried I sanded it up a bit by hand, retouched certain areas, and sanded some more. I was aiming for a worn and distressed look (since the kids will rough 'em up anyway) and it took some time to get there.

Now something really had to be done about those seats. I have some drop cloth material left over from the curtains in my son's room and decided to use them here (remember this whole redo is under $100, so I need to be thrifty). The seats were also very hard and not comfy, so I grabbed a 2 pack of foam for $6.97 and cut them to the size and shape of the seats. Then I measured the fabric and cut to fit.

I found some fun bumblebee images at  Graphics Fairy (here and  here)that I thought would look cute on the seats. So I printed them on iron on transfer paper ($5.59 at Hobby Lobby with my 40% off coupon), cut as close to the image as possible, and ironed them onto the middle of the drop cloth pieces.

I used my trusty staple gun to attach the fabric and screwed the seats back on.
Hmmm, they just felt like they still needed something more, a witty saying perhaps?

These chairs are going to the craft table for my kids to use when they do projects. My chair will say "queen," of course.

And here they are in all their fun, vintagey, worn in, and comfy glory.

I think I am going to ship them out to the garage one more time for a coat of scotch guard on the seats.
Markers + 2 Year Old = Big Mess

Thanks for letting me share and join in the fun over here, Bella! Hope to see you all over in my neck of the woods sometime!
********************************************************
How awesome are those chairs, WOW. I love the bees, the words, he he DRONE, that just makes me giggle, and of course the distressed red. You did a great job Kim, as usual :)
Thanks again for stopping by!!
